| REGIONAL PERSPECTIVES ON 2007 ENERGY ACT
The Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 was signed into law Dec. 19, 2007. We asked a few regional energy efficiency leaders their thoughts on the Act including Michael Grainey of Oregon Department of Energy, Tom Eckman of the Northwest Power and Conservation Council and Susan Hermenet, NEEA's Interim Executive Director, as to how this all might impact our region. We wanted to share their thoughts with the region. [More] |

NEEA OPENS STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS TO ALL STAKEHOLDERS
Starting in March 2008, NEEA will launch our strategic planning process
around the region to gather input about the region's priorities, commitment, and
current issues around energy efficiency. NEEA regularly seeks input from
the region, but this is the first time it will be conducting a formal process to
do so. The outreach process will be multi-pronged, including launching a
set of web tools, as well as visiting a large and diverse number of
stakeholders. NEEA plans to use the input to help steer the organization's
future. The plan will be posted on our web site as it is drafted, and seek
comments throughout the process. "The process is meant to be open,
transparent, and iterative for the benefit of the region. We expect to
learn many things from this process and take the learnings to help drive the
future of this organization," said Susan Hermenet, Interim Executive Director of
NEEA. |
