"The IEA helped us with recommissioning two facilities resulting in significant power savings with no capital investment. Going forward I can see the benefit of applying these same measures at our other facilities nationwide."

While we continue to look for innovative ways to save electricity in the region, currently funding for unsolicited proposals is extremely limited. As such, we anticipate only projects with superior promise or returns on investment are likely to be accepted.

Our goal is to influence the marketplace so that products and services that use electricity more efficiently are available to Northwest residents and businesses. This portion of our Web site explains how to submit an idea and the criteria for acceptance.

Accepted proposals are eligible for funding support along with other assistance, including market research and marketing support. Evaluations and feedback are also provided as the project progresses.

What is the Process for Submitting an Idea?
The unsolicited proposal process is one of the ways NEEA develops and funds projects. If NEEA staff determines that the proposal meets the organization's funding criteria, project portfolio goals, and has potential to be a successful project, staff and the applicant will develop the proposal through four phases.
